With Confidence.
Secure, compliant debit order collections designed to improve cash-flow predictability and operational control.
What You Can Do With Paysoft Collections
Paysoft enables your business to securely collect funds directly from customer and business bank accounts across South Africa through compliant debit order solutions.
Whether you operate on a subscription model, installment billing, service contracts or recurring fees, Paysoft provides a structured and scalable way to manage collections within one secure platform.
All collections are supported by built-in Check-Digit Validation (CDV), which automatically pre-validates account numbers against bank and branch rules before submission, reducing rejected debit orders and improving data integrity.
From SMEs to regulated financial institutions, Paysoft supports recurring revenue models that require reliability, compliance and visibility.
Why This Matters
To Your Business
Recurring collections directly influence cash-flow stability and forecasting accuracy. Inefficient mandate management, high dispute rates and unpaid debit orders increase administrative burden and reduce revenue certainty.
Built-in account validation before submission
Automatic Check-Digit Validation reduces rejected debit transactions and improves collection success rates.
Improved cash-flow predictability
Debit orders reduce uncertainty by enabling scheduled collections aligned to your billing cycle, improving working capital management.
Flexible processing with built-in protection
Submit single or bulk collection batches through one secure platform, while authenticated electronic mandates provide an added layer of fraud prevention and mandate integrity.
Reduced operational friction
Centralised mandate management, batch tracking and reporting increase efficiency and reduce manual follow-up processes.
Compliance-ready collection solutions
Paysoft’s Debit Orders (EFT), DebiCheck and Registered Mandate solutions all align with SARB and PASA standards, supporting regulated and high-trust environments. Predictable collections strengthen financial control and improve revenue performance.
Choose Your Collection Method
Every business has a different risk profile, customer base and compliance requirement. Paysoft gives you flexible collection frameworks within one secure platform.
Debit Orders (EFT)
South Africa’s most widely used recurring collection method.
Debit Orders are ideal for high-volume, cost-sensitive environments where affordability and scale are priorities. Mandates are obtained directly from the customer, making this a flexible and familiar collection method across industries.
Best suited for subscription services, memberships and established recurring billing models where dispute exposure is manageable.
DebiCheck
Authenticated debit orders designed for regulated or high-trust environments.
With DebiCheck, customers approve their mandate directly with their bank before collections begin. This significantly reduces disputes and increases collection certainty, providing stronger legal and regulatory alignment.
Best suited for financial services, lending, insurance and businesses where mandate integrity and reduced reversals are critical.
Registered Mandate
Modern, digitally registered collections built for both business and consumer payment processing.
Registered Mandate allows you to collect from businesses or consumers under a digitally registered mandate stored at the customer’s bank. It reduces administrative friction while maintaining compliance and improving collection reliability.
Best suited for subscription billing, instalment-based products and organisations requiring a streamlined, compliant recurring revenue model.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What collection types does Paysoft support?
Paysoft supports three collection methods. EFT debit orders are the traditional, most cost-effective option. The customer authorises via a signed paper, website or voice mandate. EFT collections are processed in the evening window. DebiCheck requires the customer to electronically authenticate their mandate through their own bank, which reduces disputes significantly and processes in the early morning window. Registered Mandate allows you to lodge mandate details digitally at the debtor’s bank without requiring repeated customer authentication, and collections process in the evening window. Each method serves a different risk and compliance need, and Paysoft supports all three.
What is the difference between DebiCheck and a standard EFT debit order?
With a standard EFT debit order, the customer’s authorisation sits outside the banking system. This makes it fully disputable. With DebiCheck, the customer authenticates their mandate directly through their bank via their banking app, USSD, online banking or ATM. That authentication is verified and stored at the bank, making it significantly harder to dispute illegitimately. DebiCheck also processes in the early morning window, giving your collections priority. If you operate in a regulated or high-trust environment, DebiCheck is the stronger option.
What is a Registered Mandate and when should I use it?
A Registered Mandate lets you lodge your mandate information digitally at the customer’s bank without requiring the customer to authenticate it electronically. The mandate is stored at the bank and collections process in the evening window. It is disputable for up to 12 months. This option suits businesses that want a more modern, registered approach than a paper mandate but do not require the full authentication process that DebiCheck involves.
From 13 April 2026, Debit Order, Debi Check and Registered Mandates are only disputable for 60 days, and no longer 12 months from date of collection. Any collection prior to 13 April 2026 will still follow through with old rules.
What are the maximum transaction limits for each collection type?
EFT debit orders support a maximum item limit of R2 million per transaction, making them suitable for high-value, high-volume collections where cost is the primary consideration. DebiCheck and Registered Mandate both support a maximum item limit of R500 000 per transaction. If you are collecting high values with a need for authentication and reduced dispute risk, DebiCheck is the right choice.
What happens when a debit order fails due to insufficient funds?
For DebiCheck and Registered Mandate, Paysoft supports a 10-day tracking window. This allows the system to retry the collection automatically within a defined period after the original action date, improving your collection success rate without requiring manual follow-up. EFT debit order tracking operates over a 12-hour window between 12:00 and midnight. Failed collections are reported in full through Paysoft’s reporting platform so you always know exactly what collected and what did not.
Can Paysoft process once-off and recurring collections?
Yes. Both once-off and recurring collection instructions are supported across all three collection types. This covers subscription billing, loan repayments, insurance premiums, school fees and any other regular or ad hoc debit arrangement. You choose the frequency and amount when setting up the mandate, and the system manages the rest.
Which South African banks can I collect from?
Paysoft processes collections across all major South African banks. This means you can collect from customers regardless of which bank they use. There is no restriction on which bank your customers hold their accounts at.
How do I submit collections? Do I need a developer?
You do not need a developer to get started. Collections can be uploaded via Paysoft’s secure web platform using a file. Paysoft can supply you with a standard file format or we can customise and create your format in our system. If you want to automate or scale, Paysoft offers full API integration as well. Both options are supported and Paysoft’s team will assist you with onboarding.
Can collections be processed directly in my own bank account?
Collections can be processed directly in your own designated bank account, which means there is no delay in accessing your funds.
What reporting is available after collections are processed?
Paysoft provides detailed collection reports through its secure web-based interface. Reports can be downloaded in Excel and include transaction outcomes, failed items, failure reasons and settlement details. You have full visibility of every collection run in real time, without waiting for month-end processing.
